Presentation Evening 2011
On Tuesday 21st June, The Physical Education department hosted their annual presentation evening, to celebrate the numerous successes of the sporting year.
The evening was attended by governors and senior staff including outgoing principal Tim Hitch and his successor Jason Wing. We are grateful to the school governors who postponed their meeting to enable maximum attendance. Mr Smith, from Liqi Molly who are the sponsors of the Sports Academy was also present to award the two academy trophies to Tom Morton and Emma Searle.
Student gymnasts Joe Brown, James and William Evans performed an explosive tumbling routine, giving those sat on the front row something to worry about! Students were presented with colours in the major sports covered by the college plus sportsman and sportswoman of the year. Tim Hitch dedicated two new trophies, the award for most promising footballer at key stage 3, Awarded to Adam Conyard, and outstanding student performance in sport which was awarded to Joe Brown who achieved a sliver medal at the national gymnastic competition. Aidan Payne received the Chris Hill Award for outstanding sporting contribution, not just for his excellent performances in numerous sports but also his dedication and commitment to help the department whenever asked.
